   Dollars and inflation-adjusted dollars

   At readers’ request, a new switch above the headline results shows debt, deficits and net interest as a share of GDP, in nominal dollars or in inflation-adjusted 2026 dollars.

   The inflation-adjusted figures rest on CBO’s own GDP price index, adjusted for any change on the inflation slider. The charts, the phone summary bar, shared scenario links and the PNG and PDF reports follow the same choice.

Readers’ requests shape many of these changes.
